- Super Street Fighter II EX: The Ultimate Championship rc4
- Shin and Ten Gouki/Akuma names now appear on the select, VS and fight screens. Ten also gains the additional Akuma-family color choices.
- The bonus stages run at the selected Turbo speed, and a new BONUS STAGE setting in the operator menu can turn them off.
- Akuma's country appears while previewing him. Win portraits and staff-roll portraits now reflect the correct Akuma result.
- Continuing as Akuma returns directly to his select cell and portrait without a brief Ryu flash.
- The NEXT FIGHTER question mark uses the stock art.
- Both regional builds have new checksums; rebuild them with the rc4 kit.

- CPS+ 1.5
- New: the Ultra Street Fighter II remix. The complete remixed score of Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers on Nintendo Switch, 65 tracks, for Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II Turbo (with Super Street Fighter II X, Grand Master Challenge and EX) and Hyper Street Fighter II, in twelve new MRAs. It builds from your copy of the game; the kit's SWITCH.md explains what it reads.
- Fix: The four MS-DOS soundtracks no longer carry the select music on into the versus screen, where the arcade versus jingle now plays. Balrog, Vega and M. Bison each had one of the others' stage, critical and ending music; each now has his own.
- Improved: Every CD source also takes a .chd, and the MS-DOS CD soundtrack builds from the disc image alone. The FM, Sound Canvas and MT-32 packs still need the installed game, and now say so instead of failing.
- The Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold MRAs load the rc5 sets, and the Super Street Fighter II EX MRAs the rc3 sets.
- NG+ New
- SNK re-recorded the music for its Neo Geo CD releases, but the CD versions came with long loads and cut animation.
- Super Street Fighter II EX: The Ultimate Championship rc3
- Akuma has eleven new colors, his classic colors from Ultra Street Fighter II, picked on his own cell: three punches or three kicks for the first two, a single button for the next six, and LP+LK, MP+MK or HP+HK for the last three. LP+HK keeps the EX blue. His portraits follow the color, even in a mirror match.
- Shin Akuma has eleven colors of his own from Ultra Street Fighter II. Pick Shin on Akuma's cell, let go of every button, then press one of the same buttons before the select screen moves on.
- Akuma's Continue screen shows his own defeated face, in the color you picked.
- Tournament Battle's select screen now has the Akuma and random-select cells.
- Both builds have new checksums, so rebuild them with the rc3 kit.
2026-09-27
- Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter EX rc2
- Apocalypse and Cyber-Akuma now have character-specific ending artwork over the animated arcade burst.
- Selected names stay above the fighters, and versus names have more space, with two lines for long hidden names.
- The HP and HK colors now carry through the select, versus and fight HUD portraits, the win-quote portrait, Spider-Man's intro, Dhalsim's Yoga Teleport, Zangief's and Mech-Zangief's heat, and M. Bison's aura and glow.
- Akuma's HK color is now his red gi from the Saturn version.
- Both kits have new checksums, so rebuild them with the rc2 downloads.
- Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold rc5
- The STREET FIGHTER title lettering now uses the PlayStation 2 and Saturn yellow-to-green-to-blue colors across the intro and attract sequence in all four regions.
- Cammy's Psycho Streak now freezes the fight through her salute, as on the PlayStation 2: the stage darkens, and the opponent, projectiles and round timer stop.
- Psycho Streak now clashes with fireballs, knocking out a Hadouken instead of passing through it.
- Fifteen of Cammy's attacks now have their correct hitboxes.
- In Cammy's Arcade mode, her rival fight is against Rose again. rc4 showed Rose's dialogue, then a fight with Sakura.
- Every set has new checksums, so rebuild them with the rc5 kit.

- CPS+ 1.4
- New: Every Street Fighter II family game now has every soundtrack. Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II Turbo (with Super Street Fighter II X, Grand Master Challenge and EX) and Hyper Street Fighter II each get eight: the Anniversary Edition arrange, the CPS-1 soundtrack, HD Remix, the X68000 MIDI score and the four new MS-DOS soundtracks.
- New: the four soundtracks of the 1995 MS-DOS Super Street Fighter II Turbo, built from your copy of the game: FM, Roland Sound Canvas, Roland MT-32 and the CD's own audio. The kit's MSDOS.md explains what each needs.
- New: Captain Commando with its PlayStation soundtrack, USA and Japan, from the Japanese PlayStation disc.
- Improved: The family's games share one pack per soundtrack, so the card holds one Anniversary Edition arrange instead of three, about 330 MB less. Super Street Fighter II and Turbo now fade the music out at the end of a match, as the board does, and the CPS-1 soundtrack plays at the board's own level instead of about 5 dB loud.
- Fix: The X68000 MIDI soundtrack's character select, bonus stage and four endings no longer cut out partway; they loop as the X68000 game does. It now also plays Turbo's character select and opening.
- Fix: The Final Fight and Magic Sword Double Impact packs build with every ffmpeg. Some ffmpeg builds dropped a few samples from the album's MP3s, so the build stopped or failed its hash check. The packs themselves are unchanged.

- Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold rc4
- Cammy's stage music is restored. You can hear it in a two-player match.
- Portraits before a fight and in the story scenes no longer pick up the wrong colors.
- In the English builds, the last lines of every ending now display in full, and ending text sits clear of the screen edges.
- Super Street Fighter II EX: The Ultimate Championship rc2
- A new select-screen layout: Akuma has his own cell, with a random-select roulette opposite him and the grid re-centered. Shin and Ten are picked from Akuma's cell, and the original Ryu codes still work.
- Akuma, Shin and Ten have colored portraits on the select, VS, continue and NEXT FIGHTER screens and in the fight HUD, with separate colors for each player.
- Playable Akuma is named everywhere: Gouki in the Japan build and Akuma in the USA build, on the select and VS screens, in the fight HUD and in the bonus stages. A two-player bonus stage now names an Akuma winner.
- Ten Akuma's Raging Demon finish shows the 天 as in the Dreamcast version, with the Dreamcast hit timing.
- Fixed endings that could stall after the final fight: the win poses froze and endings such as Guile's family scene never started.
- Fixed the select-screen cursor and the alignment of the fighters' names on the select screen, and of Akuma's name in the fight HUD.
2026-09-22
- Vampire Savior New
- The export boards toned Vampire Savior down: less blood, recolored gore, dropped win quotes and endings cut short.
2026-09-19
- CPS+ 1.3b
- A second player joining at the character select no longer kills the music. The board borrows the music channels for the “Here comes a new challenger” stinger and hands them back; the packs read that as a new song, so the arranged track stopped and nothing restarted it. Affects the Street Fighter II family: Super Street Fighter II, Turbo, Hyper, and the X68000 and HD Remix soundtracks. The board's own stinger is heard under the arranged music, and HD Remix's arranged stinger is no longer in the pack.
- Fixes the pack builder: building any of the three album-sourced packs (Final Fight and Magic Sword Double Impact, Super Turbo HD Remix) stopped with a KeyError at the last step. The packs themselves are unchanged — each still builds to the same bytes as before.
- The kit's README now states the version it was built as.
2026-09-17
- CPS+ 1.3
- Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Grand Master Challenge, with the Anniversary Edition arrangement or the HD Remix soundtrack, loading the restoration's HBMAME set.
- Super Street Fighter II EX: The Ultimate Championship, USA and Japan, with the same two soundtracks. The bonus stages keep the board's own music.
- Final Fight (Arrange + CD Cutscenes) is now Final Fight EX (Arrange), and loads the Final Fight EX rc2 sets.
- The Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold MRAs load the rc3 sets.
- Builds on Windows: paths pasted straight into discs.toml work, the X68000 tools build with MinGW or Visual Studio, .zip and .7z sources both work, and the Strider pack records and verifies with MAME's official Windows build.
- Every pack now builds to the same bytes on any computer. The Double Impact and HD Remix packs used to come out slightly different on Intel and AMD PCs; their reference hashes change by an inaudible amount, and a pack you already built keeps working.
- If a pack doesn't verify, make_packs.py now tells you which disc track differs and why (a different rip, a read offset, a missing track), and fixes rips that are only shifted. --check-inputs checks your discs without building.
- Six new MRAs (80 in all). The three cores are unchanged.
- Final Fight EX rc2
- New name: Final Fight — CD Cutscenes is now Final Fight EX, with a new title screen.
- Fixed visual defects on the player select screen.
- The kit now builds on Windows, and works with .zip or .7z romsets (7-Zip is only needed for .7z). It also checks for every romset file before it starts and names anything missing.
- The MiSTer MRAs are now called Final Fight EX (USA) and Final Fight EX (Japan).
- Both sets are rebuilt and their checksums have changed, so rebuild them with the rc2 kit.
- Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter New
- The US board left things out: no Norimaro, generic endings for the secret fighters, and half the win quotes.
- Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter EX New
- The arcade game with everything it held back: Norimaro in the US game, Cyber-Akuma and Apocalypse on your side, extra colors and eight speeds.
- Night Warriors 2 rc2
- The translation now uses Capcom's official Darkstalkers 3 English wherever it was accurate to the Japanese, and the rest has been refined to match Capcom's style.
- Oboro Bishamon's win now plays his own victory theme instead of a stage theme.
- Capcom's hidden name art spelled Lord Raptor "L.Rapter". It now reads L.Raptor everywhere it appears.
- Oboro Bishamon's silent win quote now shows as a clean row of dots, instead of stray marks.
- The set now also changes four graphics ROMs for the name art, so rebuild it with the rc2 kit.
- Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold rc3
- The English builds (USA, Europe and Asia) now carry the whole Japanese script in English. Every story and ending page is back, in the Japanese order, including scenes the English version cut short.
- Evil Ryu has his own ending again, with his narration and his scene with Akuma, instead of borrowing Ryu's.
- All 452 win quotes from the Japanese game, in English, picked by opponent and remaining health the way the Japanese game does it, and centered on screen. Cammy keeps her four Gold quotes.
- Story, ending and quote text is translated from the Japanese. Where Capcom's English said the same thing, it's kept.
- Red blood on hits in the English builds, as in Japan.
- Birdie's third victory pose is back; the English builds showed another pose in its place.
- The Manual guard panel on the select screen now explains itself. It appears when the operator turns on Auto Guard.
- Every set has new checksums, so rebuild them with the rc3 kit.
- Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha New
- Zero 2 Alpha's English script was a cut-down one: shorter story scenes, a handful of random win quotes, and no ending of his own for Evil Ryu.
- Super Street Fighter II EX: The Ultimate Championship New
- Japan's Super Turbo with the extras it never had together: Shin Akuma and Ten Akuma on the select screen, the bonus stages back, Tournament Battle, two more colors and Free Play.
- Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Grand Master Challenge rc2
- The English was checked line by line against Capcom's own US script. Wherever Capcom's wording kept the Japanese meaning, it's now used: 54 lines across the win quotes, the endings and the Tournament Battle rules. Chun-Li's "Men are no challenge at all", for one, is now "You're no challenge at all". The Japanese story points stay, like Shoryuken instead of Sheng Long, and Cammy's spy story.
- Every ending now plays out exactly as it does in Japan. Some scenes were being skipped under the US region, like Jane and Amy arriving to stop Guile.
- Ending text looks like the US game's again: the fighters' lines in blue, everyone else in pink, and every caption centered in its box.
- Akuma's reply to M. Bison is complete: "I am your shadow. Those possessed by the shadow must die. Your time is up!"
- Dhalsim's teleport tip now explains that your input decides where he reappears.
- Only sfxj.03d changes, so rebuild your set with the rc2 kit.
- Vampire Savior 2 rc2
- The translation now uses Capcom's official Darkstalkers 3 English wherever it was accurate to the Japanese, and the rest has been refined to match Capcom's style.
- The longest ending no longer crashes and resets the game partway through.
- Oboro Bishamon's win now plays his own victory theme instead of the pre-boss theme.
2026-09-10
- CPS+ 1.2
- Final Fight and Magic Sword with the remixed soundtracks from Final Fight: Double Impact (Simon Viklund; Melssen and Thunberg), built from Capcom's free 2010 soundtrack download. Final Fight's is one pack for both regions.
- Super Street Fighter II and Super Street Fighter II Turbo with the OC ReMix soundtrack from Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, built from OC ReMix's official FLAC release.
- Strider with the Sound Remix performances from its PlayStation port, recorded from the game's own sound test with MAME on your machine.
- Fixes: the three Final Fight soundtrack packs (SNES, X68000 FM and X68000 MIDI) now start their opening where the arcade's own song starts, in both regions, and leave the phone to the board; the Super Street Fighter II packs let the QSound logo jingle play from the arcade board; the SSF2-family MRAs carry each region's factory EEPROM defaults.
- Twelve new MRAs (74 in all) and four new packs (27 in all). Six existing packs changed (see the FAQ); the other 17 packs, their MRAs and the three cores are unchanged.
- Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Grand Master Challenge New
- Japan's Super Turbo is the one the pros play, and it never came west.
2026-09-01
- CPS+ 1.1
- UN Squadron / Area 88 with the Super Famicom soundtrack, built from the Capcom Music Generation: Area 88 CD (FLAC or WAV).
- X68000 MIDI soundtracks for Street Fighter II' Champion Edition, Super Street Fighter II and Ghouls'n Ghosts / Daimakaimura, rendered on your machine from your own X68000 disk images and SC-55 ROMs.
- Final Fight 30th Anniversary CPS2 Edition with the Sega CD arrangement, from the same US Final Fight CD as the CPS-1 pack.
- Ten new MRAs (62 in all) and five new packs (23 in all). The eighteen 1.0 packs, their MRAs and the three cores are unchanged, so nothing needs rebuilding.
2026-08-27
- Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold rc2
- Fixed a sprite corruption that appeared during the attract sequence.
- Polish improvements to the title screens across all four regions.
- All four builds are rebuilt and set checksums have changed, so rebuild your sets with the rc2 kit.
